Page : Arbitration Report
Location : GM's Office - Contracts

General Description - From this page, you may view arbitration eligible players, negotiate long-term contracts with players and arbitrate with your players during the arbitration hearing period on the schedule.

Arbitration Eligibility - A player is eligible for arbitration when he has 3, 4, or 5 years of big league experience and is not under contract for the upcoming season. For the sake of this report, it is assumed the player will be earning a year of big league experience for each season in the future.

Franchise - Users may select a single franchise's arbitration eligible players to view, or select 'All Franchises' to see all applicable players. After the schedule is generated, users may negotiate long-term deals with their own players to avoid arbitration. During this time, it would make sense to search by your franchise only.

Season - This represents the season in which the player will be arbitration eligible. A player cannot be arbitration eligible until he has played in three big league seasons and then, only players who have played between three and five years in the big leagues and have expiring contracts are eligible. For instance, upon world creation selecting the Current Season (1) will return all players who will be up for arbitration if they are not re-signed by their teams before the hearing date on the top of the page.

Position - This will return any player with that listed primary position as chosen by the franchise's owner. Besides each position on the field, you may also broaden your search with 'All Position' players and 'All Pitchers' as well as position groupings like middle infield (MIF - 2B, SS), corner infield (CIF - 1B, 3B), infield (IF) and outfield (OF). Due to stats and ratings differences, you may not look at position players and pitchers at the same time. Please remember this when arbitrating. You should arbitrate with all position players and pitchers. Players with whom you do not arbitrate will automatically win their hearings.

View - You may select the stats or categories to view with the player search. These include stats from the most recent season (Stat Varieties), Current Ratings, Projected Ratings and Status Info. After selecting a Franchise, Season, Position and View type please click 'Go' to see applicable arbitration eligible players.

Budget Information - This will capture your current budget status, helping you make decisions about arbitration eligible players. The Player Payroll figure represents the amount that you have budgeted for your player payroll in the current season. Player Payroll Season X illustrates the amount that you have already allocated to player salaries for this season. Player Payroll Remaining is the difference between the budgeted payroll and the payroll that has already been allotted.

Arbitration Hearings Remaining - This indicates the number of arbitration cases that your franchise needs to conduct. Please remember to arbitrate with all pitchers and position players. If you still have players needing an arbitration hearing midway through the final cycle, your franchise will automatically offer 70% of the player's demands, unless he is asking for the league minimum or less. If the salary totals following arbitration put you over your player payroll budget, your budget will be automatically adjusted to get you back in compliance.

$ - The dollar amount listed represents the player's arbitration demands for the selected season. You may offer the player any amount of money you deem reasonable during hearings and an arbitrator will rule immediately.

Action - To begin a hearing with a player, please click 'Arbitrate.' You will be taken to this player's arbitration hearing page where you may make an offer. Before the scheduled arbitration period, you may negotiate long-term contracts with your eligible players. To do so, please click 'Negotiate Long-Term.' You will be taken to the Long Term Contract Negotiations page.
